Paraty Beaches You Can Reach Without a Boat
Not every Paraty beach needs a boat tour. The ones you can reach by car, bus or on foot — for your freer days.
Boat tours unlock Paraty's most paradisiacal beaches, but on a freer day — or when the sea is rough — it's worth knowing the beaches you can reach on your own, without boarding anything.
Walking from the center
Praia do Pontal sits just across the river, a few minutes' walk away, with kiosks and calm water. A bit further, Praia do Jabaquara has shallow water and is good for stand-up paddle. Neither is the prettiest in the region, but both solve an unplanned late afternoon.
By car or bus
To the south, along the Rio–Santos, are Praia Grande, Praia do Prumirim and the village of Trindade — all reachable by car or local bus. Trindade is the most complete, with several beaches and the Cachadaço natural pool a short trail away.
By trail
Some of the wildest beaches, like Praia do Sono and Cachadaço, sit a walk away from a road — you don't need a boat, just the willingness and sturdy shoes. They're the best of both worlds: a secluded beach without depending on a boat.
